We understand that starting treatment can bring many questions. At Nova Vital Recovery, our goal is to help you feel informed, supported, and more confident about the recovery process. Below, you’ll find answers to common questions about admissions, visitation, daily life during treatment, and what you can expect while receiving care at our facility.

What is the first step in starting admissions?

You can begin online by visiting our Contact Page. Share your name, phone number, email, and a short message. Our team will contact you as soon as possible.

You can also call us at (318) 224-4967 during normal business hours. If you call after hours, please leave a voicemail.

Do you offer detox?

Yes. Nova Vital Recovery offers medically supported detox for clients who need help managing withdrawal. During detox, our medical team monitors clients 24 hours a day in a safe and supportive setting.

When appropriate, medication-assisted treatment may be used to help reduce withdrawal symptoms. Each plan is reviewed by our medical staff and based on the client’s needs.

What forms of payment are accepted?

Nova Vital Recovery accepts several payment options for treatment.

  • Louisiana Medicaid
  • Private insurance
  • Private pay, including cash, check, or credit card

Co-insurance may apply for some private insurance plans.

What should I do if I take prescribed medications?

You may bring your current prescribed medications with you. Our medical staff will review each medication to decide whether it is appropriate during treatment.

What should I do if I am late for my appointment?

Please call ahead if you expect to arrive late. Our admissions team will help make arrangements and keep your intake process as smooth as possible.

Communication and Visitation

Are clients allowed to use the phone?

Yes. During admission, clients may make a phone call to let family know they arrived safely. After the first week, clients may make calls during approved leisure times, often in the late afternoon.

Emergency, legal, attorney, or other special calls may be approved by a counselor.

Are clients allowed to receive mail?

Yes. Clients may receive mail while in treatment. Please include the client’s name and use the address below.

Mail and packages are usually given out around 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. All mail and packages are opened in front of staff and reviewed for safety.

Are visitors allowed while I am in rehab?

Visitation follows current Louisiana Department of Health guidance. Family visitation and family therapy sessions may be arranged with the client’s counselor when approved by the treatment team.

All visits are supervised and available on a limited basis. When available, visitation is often scheduled on Saturday or Sunday.

Is smoking allowed on the premises?

Smoking tobacco is allowed only in designated outdoor areas during approved leisure times.

Can I bring my vehicle to rehab?

Yes. However, your vehicle will be parked offsite. You must give your keys to staff during admission.

You will not be allowed to access your vehicle while in the program. Your keys will be returned at discharge.

Can clients watch television or read?

Yes. Television and approved reading are allowed during scheduled leisure times. Special occasions may require staff approval.

Are soft drinks and candy allowed?

Clients are discouraged from bringing outside snacks or drinks during admission. Vending machines are available on the premises and accept cash, credit cards, and debit cards.

Are clients allowed to wear jewelry or cosmetics?

Wedding rings and wristwatches are the only jewelry allowed. Cosmetics are permitted in moderation, but your counselor may restrict certain items if needed.

Items That Must Be Unopened

  • Cigarettes, limited to 5 packs per week
  • Chewing tobacco, snuff, or dip, limited to 5 cans per week
  • Electronic cigarettes or vapes that are not refillable
  • Shampoo and conditioner
  • Toothpaste
  • Non-aerosol deodorant
  • Shaving cream
  • Detergent and fabric softener

Approved family members or significant others may drop off items any day from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Items must be left at the front desk. Visits are not permitted during item drop-offs.

Non-Allowable Items

Some items are not allowed inside the residence. If these items are brought in, staff will secure them until discharge. Illegal items will not be returned and will be disposed of properly.

  • Products containing alcohol
  • Makeup bags
  • Super glue or nail glue
  • Tampons
  • Stuffed animals
  • Personal blankets, towels, or pillows
  • Fingernail polish
  • Fingernail polish remover
  • Refillable electronic cigarettes, vapes, or mods
  • Aerosol spray
  • Clothing with inappropriate messages
  • Drugs or drug paraphernalia
  • Markers not labeled “non-toxic”
  • Candles or incense
  • Outside food or drinks
  • Personal bedding items
  • Electronic items, including cell phones, tablets, and laptops
  • Sexually explicit or revealing clothing
  • Medications containing alcohol or narcotics
